INGREDIENTS
1 roll of puff pastry
3 medium apples cored and sliced
520ml (2 cups) of milk
140g (⅔ cup) of sugar
3 egg yolks
80g (½ cup) of all-purpose flour
3ml (½ tsp) of vanilla extract

METHOD
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/374°F.
2. Whisk sugar with egg yolks, vanilla and flour. Pour hot milk into the egg yolk mixture, and whisk. Pour the custard base into a saucepan and cook over medium-low heat for 5-7 minutes or until thick and bubbly. Let cool down completely.
3. Roll and cut out apple shapes out of the puff pastry as shown in the video.
4. Pipe custard on top of the puff pastry base and layer apple slices on top.
5. Bake for 20 minutes.
