Spanish-style clams in tomato and wine are known as ‘Almejas Botin’ in Spain and is a classic clam recipe that is said to have originated in the Spanish restaurant Sobrino de Botin, located in Madrid. Clams are cooked down with Spanish paprika, onion, and garlic, and simmered down with plenty of white wine.

This recipe can be served as a tasty tapas or as a main meal. It is quick and easy to prepare and is ready in around 20 minutes.

Here's what you'll need:

___Ingredients (serves 2, tapas)___

1 lb (450g) clams
½ white onion
1 bay leaf
1 small hot pepper/chili
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
6 oz. / 175 ml dry white wine
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
Flour (around 1 tablespoon)
3 tablespoons tomato paste

___Equipment Needed___
Large skillet/frying pan with lid
Chopping board
Sharp knife
