SKILLET BROWNIE RECIPE
Ingredients:
1/2 stick butter (60g)
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (65g)
1/4 cup maple syrup or agave (60ml)
1/2 cup cocoa powder (50g)
1/2 tsp salt
1.5 tsp vanilla extract
3 eggs
1/2 cup ground oats, or oat flour (50g)
2 oz dark chocolate, chopped (60g)
1/4 cup finely chopped almonds (30g)
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a cast iron skillet with a small amount of butter.
In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, applesauce, maple syrup or agave, and cocoa powder. Microwave briefly until the butter is melted. Stir the mixture until thoroughly combined.
Add the salt and vanilla extract. Then, add the eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition.
Gently fold in the oat flour until just combined.
Carefully fold in the chopped dark chocolate and almonds.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared skillet, ensuring an even distribution by gently shaking the skillet.
Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, depending on desired fudginess.
Once baked, remove the skillet from the oven and allow the brownie to cool for 5 minutes.
Serve the brownie directly from the skillet or portion onto plates.
Enjoy your delicious and wholesome skillet brownie!
