Easy Orange Crinkles | Eggless Cookie Recipe
:: Cook Me Food ::

This orange crinkle cookie recipe has everything you need in an ideal citrus bite. Each cookie is loaded with rich citrusy flavor that refreshes everyone’s palate. It’s soft and moist center makes it deliciously addicting as well!

You’ll need:
• 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ cup (112g) unsalted butter (room temperature)
• ¾ cup (150g) white sugar + more for coating
• 5 tbsp fresh orange juice
• 2 tsp orange zest (1 large orange)
• 1 tsp orange extract
• 4 – 6 drops of orange food color (3 drops red color + 9 drops yellow color)
• Powdered sugar for coating

Makes 16 - 21 cookies
* Using a 1.5-inch cookie scoop

:: HELPFUL HINTS ::
* Measure your flour correctly. Adding too much flour will result to crumbly texture when baked. Fluff the flour in the container before scooping it out. Lightly spoon the flour directly into the measuring cup until it mounds well above the top of the measuring cup. Using the back of the dinner knife (non-serrated side is facing the flour), sweep the knife over the top of the cup to remove the excess flour.

* I am using Wilton’s gel food coloring. If orange food color is not available, one can always use the primary colors, red and yellow. The ratio to get the perfect orange color for this recipe is 3 drops red color + 8-9 drops yellow color. Feel free to adjust the color to your preference.

* Do not overcook these cookies. You want them to be still soft in the middle when you take them out of the oven. They will set as they cool. Allow cookies to rest on the baking pan for 3 to 5 minutes and transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Happy baking!
