St. Patrick's Day Crinkle Cookies Recipe
:: Cook Me Food ::

This festive and super easy St Patrick’s Day Cookie Recipe is a fantastic holiday baking recipe to make with the kids. These vibrant green cookies are soft and moist in the centers - utterly delicious and melt-in-your mouth sweet treat.

You’ll need:
• 1 1/3 cup (166g) all-purpose flour
• 1 ½ tsp baking powder
• ¼ tsp salt
• 2/3 cup (133g) white sugar + more coating
• ¼ cup unsalted butter
• 1 medium egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 4-8 drops or ¼ tsp green gel food coloring
• Powdered sugar for coating

Makes 12 cookies
Using 1.5 tbsp cookie scoop in the video

:: HELPFUL HINTS ::

* Measure your flour correctly. Adding too much flour will result to crumbly texture when baked. Fluff the flour in the container before scooping it out. Lightly spoon the flour directly into the measuring cup until it mounds well above the top of the measuring cup. Using the back of the dinner knife (non-serrated side is facing the flour), sweep the knife over the top of the cup to remove the excess flour.

* Food coloring varies by type and brand. I made these cookies using Wilton gel food coloring which is pigmented although the consistency is relatively thin compared to the Americolor gel food coloring I usually use. If you are using store brand gel food coloring, you might need to use more. You may use liquid food coloring with this recipe. Takes about ½ tsp to get to the same color you see in the video.

* Allow cookies to rest on the baking pan for 3 to 5 minutes and transfer to wire rack to cool completely

Happy baking!
