Sweet Dahi Bhallay
Ingredients for Imli Chutney:
Tamarind pulp 2 cups
Sugar 1/2 cup
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Slurry (corn flour 1 tbsp + water 3 tbsp)
Ingredients for Bhallay:
Dal mash (soaked) 2 cups
Salt 1/2 tsp
Baking soda 1/2 tsp
Oil (for frying) as required
Water (for soaking) as required
Ingredients for Yogurt Mixture:
Yogurt 1 cup
Sugar 1/4 cup
Chaat masala 1/4 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Ingredients for Assembling:
Imli chutney as required
Prepared bhallay as required
Yogurt mixture as required
Chaat masala as required
Pomegranate as required
Directions for Imli Chutney:
1. In a pan heat tamarind pulp, sugar, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt and cook until sugar dissolves. Add slurry and cook until it thickens. Let it cool at room temperature and set aside.
Directions for Bhallay:
2. In a blender add dal mash and blend them well. Now transfer this mixture to a bowl and add baking soda, salt. Mix it well.
3. Now take this mixture and add spoonfuls of it into frying oil. Fry until crispy.
4. Now transfer these to the water and soak for 10-15 mins. Squeeze water out from them by pressing in hands. Set aside.
Directions for yogurt mixture:
5. In a bowl add yogurt, sugar, chaat masala, salt and mix it well.
Directions for Assembling:
6. In a dish add imli chutney, prepared bhallay, yogurt mixture and top it with chaat masala and pomegranate. Your Sweet Dahi Bhallay are ready.
