This Peanut Tang Yuan has a sweet peanut filling with chewy, soft and stretchy outer dough. The texture of the dough is quite similar to mochi. For most recipes, this the tang yuan dough is made with just glutinous rice flour. I added rice flour and tapioca starch to get a softer texture. I have tested many time to get the right tang yuan texture. So I hope you like it!

There are two methods to make this Tang Yuan. I used the hot water method. Some other recipes use cook dough method (a piece of the dough is boiled, then mixed with the raw dough, this method is also taught by my auntie). Both methods are also good. But I find it more convenient to use the hot water method.
