Super Easy Garlic Rice Recipe 🍚🧄

This delicious garlic rice is the easiest side dish that you can serve with anything! It’s full of flavor; buttery, garlicky, so good you can eat it plain too!

You'll need

1 cup rice
1 1/2 cups hot water (300 ml)
10 cloves of garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil

For soaking the rice:
Lukewarm water
1/2 tsp salt

1 cup = 200 ml

Here's how

Start by placing the rice in a suitable bowl. Add salt and enough lukewarm water to cover the rice.
After about 15 minutes of soaking the rice this way, rinse it thoroughly with plenty of water.
Peel and cut the garlic cloves into large pieces.
Heat olive oil in a rice pot.
Once the oil is heated, add the well-drained rice.
Begin sautéing the rice, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
After sautéing for about 3-4 minutes, add the garlic, sugar, salt, and butter. Continue sautéing the rice while mixing these ingredients.
Optionally, sprinkle some ground black pepper, then add hot water.
Stir, cover the pot with a lid, and let the rice come to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the rice cook until it absorbs all the water.
Once the rice has absorbed all the water, turn off the heat.
Cover the rice with a clean cloth or paper towel and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes.
Gently fluff the garlic rice with a fork, and it's ready to be served. Enjoy!
