Boston Cream Pie | American Boston Cream Pie Recipe | Moist, delicious cake with Vanilla Pastry Cream and Chocolate Ganache
When I made this cake, it unfortunately didn't look the best - so I considered not posting this video. However, the taste was really good and I loved the texture which I haven't really come across that often in other cakes. Basically, when I placed the second layer on the cake, the cream started leaking out and it cracked a bit. That's why I recommend leaving the cream filling to cool for longer. I think I left it to cool for maybe only 3 hours. When I'll make it next time, I will probably make the vanilla pastry cream the day before assembly. Despite all this, like I said, it's very delicious, and I had to post it. The cake has a moist crumb and the cream custard is simple yet elegant like a restaurant quality dessert. I hope you will not be discouraged, you should definitely try this and avoid the mistakes I made. Good luck and enjoy baking!
Boston Cream Pie:
Ingredients:
115g butter
100ml oil
200g sugar
350ml milk + 2 tbsp vinegar
3 eggs
435g flour
Pinch of salt
3 tsp baking powder

500ml milk
2 egg yolks + 1 whole egg
100g sugar
35g cornflour
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Vanilla sugar (20g)
35g butter
---
150g dark chocolate
80ml double cream
