Orange Paradise Cake - White Cake, Chocolate Coconut Ganache & Orange Cream - A Decadent Gâteau

This cake came together when I was trying to make a White Cake. I didn't want to use a buttercream like most American Layer Cakes. Eventually we tried the mixture of whipped cream, white chocolate, orange zest and little cream cheese. ( check recipe for details). It turned out so delicious and aromatic. Despite using only the zest of 1/2 orange, the flavour was strong and beautiful. It really makes the whole cake taste spectacular. The making of this cake was trial and error, simply coming up with the cake on the spot. It consists of two White Cake layers, a layer of Chocolate Coconut Ganache and smooth orange white chocolate cream. It was definitely fun creating and making this cake, and I hope you try it at home too, perfect for birthdays and special occasions ~


Orange Paradise Cake:
For white cake:
- 280g plain flour
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 170g butter
- 170g sugar
- 5 egg whites
- 120g sour cream
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 240ml milk

For Chocolate & Coconut Ganache:
- 60g milk chocolate
- 30g dark chocolate
- 75ml double cream
- 1 tsp oil
- 40g dessicated coconut (add after it's set a bit)

Orange Whipped White Chocolate Frosting:
- 220ml double cream
- 20g vanilla sugar
- 50g melted white chocolate
- 200g cream cheese
- Zest of 1/2 orange

& dust with icing sugar
