Dal Vada also known as Parippu Vada or Masala Vada are savory, spiced, crunchy fritters that are a popular street food in South India. Gluten-free and vegan.
Dal Vada is made with chana dal. Chana dal are derived from brown chickpeas that have been husked and split. They have a lovely nutty taste and flavor. Chana dal is also known as Bengal gram in english.

Masala vada is made by coarsely grinding soaked chana dal or bengal gram. Then spices, onions & herbs are added to the dough. This dough is then shaped to small disc or patties & deep fried.

Ingredients required
3/4 cup bengal gram (channa dal)
Green chilli chopped
1 tbsp garlic chopped
3/4 cup fine chopped onion
Ginger chopped
1/2 tsp black pepper
Rice flour for binding
Salt to taste
Pinch of asafoetida
Coriander leaves
