Today we have for you one of my personal favorite recipes from the coastal state of Maharashtra, Prawns Tawa Masala. Prawns are a staple in Maharashtrian cuisine, especially in dishes from the coastal regions. Also called कोळंबी मसाला, this dish is a perfect example of the marriage of Indian spices with seafood, and is sure to tantalise your taste buds.

The origin of this seafood recipe Indian is unknown, but it is believed to be a fusion of Maharashtrian and Goan cuisine, possibly with portuguese influences. Prawns Tawa Masala is a very popular dish in Mumbai, and is often served as a starter or even part of the main course itself.

This dish is generally made by marinating the prawns in a mixture of Indian spices, and then cooking them on a tawa (a flat griddle). The prawns are then simmered in a gravy made with tomatoes, onions and more Indian spices.

Prawns Tawa Masala is a very versatile dish, and can be served with rice, roti or even bread. If you're looking for a delicious seafood recipe that is sure to please, look no further than Prawns Tawa Masala.

Ingredients:

Marination:

1/2 kg Sea water prawns
1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tbsp Red chilli powder
1 tsp Lime juice

Tawa Fry:

4-5 tbsps oil
4-5 Sliced garlic
2 Finely Chopped onions
Salt as per taste
2 slit Green chillies
1 tbsp Coriander powder
1/2 tbsp Red chilli powder
1 tbsp Malwani masala
2-3 Kokum
Chopped coriander leaves
